The Recruitment and Search Application is for all professional searches (faculty, research, postdoctoral fellow, non-teaching professions, and management/confidential positions). A search for employment at the University of Connecticut (University) is conducted in the spirit of affirmative action, not merely to comply with legal procedures.

The Office of Diversity and Equity (ODE) conducts in-stream (pre-interview and pre-offer) reviews of Unclassified Professional Searches for affirmative action policy compliance and often refers to the documentation package, as this is the source of information used in the University's Affirmative Action Plan.
The purpose of ODE's pre-interview audit is to identify and resolve problems with the recruitment efforts and candidate pool PRIOR to the interview stage. By policy, the audit certifies to the ODE Director that the proposed group of candidates is likely to satisfy the position's affirmative action recruitment goal (goal candidate), or that all good faith efforts to achieve that end have been exhausted.
The purpose of ODE's pre-offer audit is to ensure compliance with both anti-discrimination and affirmative action standards. Again, ODE considers both outcome and effort.
Search Orientation Sessions may be scheduled at any time for search committees or administrators by contacting ODE at 486-2943.
